Electrical firm joins crusade against breast cancer

An electrical firm in Petit-Rocher is doing its part for the fight against breast cancer.
"As a leading residential electrical service company in our region, we want to take our business opportunity to actively create awareness in our community on this important issue during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month," said company spokesperson Kim David in a news release.
In every home they visit, (sometimes 25 per week), Novolux technicians always wear bootie-type footwear on top of their boots called "shubbies," in order to protect their clients' floors while working in their homes. In October, Novolux's electricians will be wearing pink shubbies in every home they service.
The intent is to spark up conversations and create awareness in getting women (and men) involved in proactive health practices.
In addition to their pink shubbies, the technicians of Novolux will be wearing their pink pins on their uniforms and giving out important "info to know" cards to every client they meet.
"With this initiative, we want to create awareness and educate the community about the importance of early diagnosis and effective treatment," said Ms. David. "It is only with communication and awareness that we have the potential to improve and save the lives of those who have been touched by breast cancer, and those at risk of developing the disease."
