How about a skin for the home page?
Black over dark grey is still cold. Burrrrrr.
Also, we have lost a lot of our viewers to summer activities and the game websites; how about a few games here? [opps, do we have games? I better go and check it out.]
I did like 'comment' better than 'speakup' but, that's just me.

My biggest complaints with the new design are:

The amount of gray space. There seems to be a lot of wasted real estate.

The loss of the 3 day search functionality. If I missed something yesterday, I have to search through the past week.

The annoying flash ads. Lately, it seems to be the one with the sheep jumping beyond the ad borders and the one with the annoying guy at his computer.

The size of the ads. You've certainly gone above and beyond to make sure that they stand out no matter what page you're on.

I don't like the blue for the font unless it's just my computer setting but I find it very hard to read. I also agree about the sheep and the computer guy.

Between the premast banner ad, the masthead, the menu, and then the title, over 50% of the initial screen space is used up with headers and ads - and that's on a 19" monitor with 1280x960 resolution. Just for fun, I tried to view the site at a 1024x768 setting and a full two-thirds of the screen was header info.

Just a little excessive, don't you think?

I like the new design. It's clean and easy to follow. I agree with the ad comments but it's better than having to pay for an online subscription.

Keep up the good work.

I love the 404 error page and I apologize for breaking the internet.

Like the new colors; especially when you made them different for each page.

I like the layout, its clean and responsive.

I hate the advertising. I understand advertising for the open side of this site, but as a paying subscriber to the paper, I can't understand why so much real estate is taken up.

On that note however, I do appreciate that the advertisements are in sections surrounding articles, rather than squat in the middle, as you see on major internet news and review sites.
