Next week is the deadline for submitting nominations for this year's local Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Nomination forms may be picked up at the office of Enterprise Chaleur in Harbourview Place on Main Street or may be mailed out upon request. Fully completed nominations forms will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Sept. 2, which is next Tuesday.

The award will be presented during the annual Entrepreneurs Banquet, to take place Oct. 15 at Danny's Inn and Conference Centre in Beresford.

This award highlights the work and the perseverance of a key figure from the Chaleur region's business community, who has shown continued growth in the management of his or her business.

Nominees must be residing and operating their business in the Chaleur region for at least three years, and not have received the award within the last six years. All sectors of economic activity are eligible. Nominations are accepted from individuals, associations, agencies and local governments, as well as from entrepreneurs themselves.

Last year's award recipient was John Labonville of Discovery Drill Manufacturer Inc.

Previous winners have included Gérald Hudon of The Carpet Ranch and Bob DeGrace of Danny's.
