Q: Country or rock and roll?
Old rock n' roll. I've got the Time Life collection from the sixties. That is the type of rock n' roll I like. The stuff from the sixties, plus soft rock n' roll from groups like Supertramp, America, Genesis with Peter Gabriel, the Eagles and old Aerosmith.
Q: Favourite food?
Chicken by far. I can eat chicken every day.
Q: What is your pet peeve?
Driving behind somebody downtown and they put their blinker on after they stop. I'm worried I'm going to hit somebody some day.
Q: Favourite hobbies?
I love to go and watch a good hockey game at any level. I'm done playing now, but I love scouting and watching hockey. I like to watch football and baseball, too. I'm a (Boston) Red Sox Fan and baseball is a close second to hockey. I used to play baseball and I watch as many games as I can. In football, I used to be a Green Bay Packers fan, but now that Brett Favre is in New York, I'd say the New York Jets. I was living in Milwaukee when Green Bay won the Super Bowl so I kind of got into it then.
Q: Favourite movie?
My favourite movie is Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Robin Williams. It is a pretty deep movie. It makes you think and makes you see people from a different angle. It is a great movie.
Q: Favourite holiday?
I would say New Year's. It just seems that there are more people around at New Year's than at Christmas. At New Year's, you see a lot of friends, which I have here, but being so far away from the family...I haven't seen the whole family together at Christmas for a long time, but at New Year's at least there is always people around.
Q: Favourite way to spend vacation?
With a good meal, a good glass of wine and just relaxing. As long as I can have a nap in the afternoon, a good meal in the evening and a good bottle of wine, I'm happy.
Q: Who do you admire?
I admire my wife. She made a lot of sacrifices for me. Because I traveled a lot when I played hockey, she had different jobs at different places and had to learn different languages. I remember her going to German classes to learn German when we lived there.
Q: Best advice you've ever received?
The best advice I ever received was to just be yourself and treat other people the way you'd like to be treated. I grew up living that way and Dave Taylor, who was the captain of the Los Angeles Kings when I played there, told me the same advice. He was a great leader, and a great captain.
Q: Best thing about living in the Chaleur region?
There are a lot of good things. The community, I think it is a great place to raise your family. The people are very friendly. You can kind of compare Chaleur to watching "Cheers" on television. It is the kind of place you'd like to be. That is the way it is in Chaleur, just a great place to be.
