To The Editor:

As residents of the city of Bathurst, it is our job to watch over our elected officials, to ensure that the people we have chosen to lead us for the next four years will do the best they can for our community.

As a parent, my first thought is always, “What will they do for the youth of our city?” Our previous city council accomplished many wonderful things for our youth, including beginning a scholarship fund for both Ecole Secondaire Nepisiguit and Bathurst High School graduating students.

Hopefully, our newly-elected council will have the same attitude and drive when it comes to the education of our youth, and all community members.

Good leadership isn’t about speeches and ceremonies; it’s about hard work and integrity. Can they rise to the challenge? Allison Noon Bathurst
