Justa Two Bit Stables in Salmon Beach played host to the first American Quarter Horse Association Recreational Ride to be held in this area last month. The event, which promotes safe horsemanship, respect of the environment and the enjoyment of all breeds of horses, was held Aug. 17. Participants included, from left, Amy Chamberlain, Laurin White, Brent Roy, Peggy Clouston, Alexia English, Erin White, Abbie Ronalds, Ashley Smith, Margie DeGraff and Alley Smith. A $150 donation was made to the Bathurst High School Boys in Red Scholarship Fund from proceeds raised during a barbecue held during the event.
