Hi! My name is Tom. I am a big fluffy grey and white male who used to be the shy guy on the block, but I am starting to come around now. I get along well with the other cats here, so I would fit into a multicat household. I have been here for many weeks and would really like to have someone come and claim me as their own.

Tom used to be shy, but now he’s learning to like people, and he would really like it if one of them would take him home.

As with all of the animals here at the shelter, I have been treated for worms and been given my first needle.

I have some sad news that you may find hard to believe. A few weeks ago someone tried to break into the shelter. Why would anyone do that, you might ask? I don't really know. I just know that some innocent creatures were very frightened. The person smashed the window in the office and the glass flew into the guinea pig cage that was sitting on the counter. Thankfully, no one was hurt but now the shelter has to replace the window and that costs money that they don't have. It is important that everyone know that there is never any money at the shelter and the only medications are for deworming and antibiotics for sick animals, so the only ones that are hurt by trying to break in are the animals.

For more information about adopting me, please call the SPCA at 622-0645 or come visit me at the shelter located in the Chatham Industrial Park on 128 Dan Cripps St. Due to a lack of funding the shelter is closed Monday -Wednesday until further notice, but will be open Thursday-Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Don't forget to check out the web site at www.geocities.com/miramichi_spca to see the many other cats, kittens and dogs here at the shelter. You can also find many pictures on Facebook under the Save the Miramichi SPCA group.
