
Long-time Scouter recognized

Local resident Helen Knowles was recognized for her contribution to the Scouting movement at the annual awards ceremony for the New Brunswick Council of Scouts Canada, held Nov. 1 at the Legislative Assembly in Fredericton. Mrs. Knowles has been a volunteer with Scouts Canada for 28 years and received the bar to the Silver Acorn for especially distinguished service, as well as the the Silver Moose for exceptional service within New Brunswick.She is shown receiving her Silver Moose from Lieutenant Governor Hermenegilde Chiasson (left) with Scouts Canada's chief commissioner Glenn Armstrong looking on.
