WEDNESDAY

--The Anglican Church of New Bandon will hold a strawberry social and bake sale from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Clifton at the Christ Church Hall. Enjoy a delicious large strawberry shortcake and tea, coffee or ice tea for $5. A variety of baked goods and homemade bread will be available.

SATURDAY

--St. George's Family and Community Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. George's Hall, 432 King Ave. All are welcome to attend an enjoy a country-style breakfast of scrambled or boiled eggs, hash browns, sausage, homemade beans, toast, coffee/tea and juice. --A Song In Your Heart is the theme of the Bathurst Christian Women's Club luncheon on July 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Danny's Inn and Conference Centre in Beresford. Music will be courtesy of Bathurst's own Evans Sisters, Jane and Maggie, and guest speaker is Linda Chapman from Amherst, N.S. whose talk is entitled "Alterations Free of Charge." The cost is $13 and reservations and cancellations for the luncheon are necessary. Call Wanetta at 548-5083 or Edith at 548-3924.

--On July 23, during the Hopsitality Days summer festival in Bathurst, the Community Choir, under the direction of Sister Elizabeth Graff, will present a concert of old classics, spirituals and fun songs at the Bathurst Heritage Museum at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

--The fifth annual Rendez-Vous Caravane Recreational Vehicle Festival will be held from Aug. 1 to 4 in Beresford near the waterfront. -The Bathurst Farmer's Market has re-opened for the season at 100 Munro St.off King Avenue on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

--The Bathurst Art Society has re-opened the Bay Breeze Art Gallery for the summer, located in the Waterfront Village (next to the bus depot). Please drop in and see the many works of art which includes watercolour, acrylic, oil, mixed media, pottery, photography, unique jewelry, etc. The Bathurst Art Society is also exhibiting at the Auberge de la Vallee. --Would you be interested in learning how to make Sushi? Call now to reserve a place and you will go home with a new project and recipe. Call 546-9449 at the Bathurst Heritage Museum if you are interested.

--The Canadian Red Cross is seeking volunteers to work in the Bathurst office at 216 Main St. For more info, please call 548-2824.

--The SPCA Bookstore, at 695 St. Peter Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Book donations, hard and soft cover, are welcome. All proceeds go to the Bathurst Animal Shelter/Gloucester SPCA.

-The Bathurst Volunteer Centre is always in need of food donations in order to serve the needy. Any restaurant, store or individuals who may be left with food items that will go unused, please think of donating to the centre. Call 549-5955.
